Preschool FAQ

Our Program

We create a secure, welcoming and engaging environment which invites children to play, explore and learn. We value a daily rhythm which allows children to be independent and make choices. We foster the continued social development of your child through the creation of a strong sense of community, cooperation and problem solving skills. Our agreements with each other are logical and simple. We invite all preschool families to become part of our community as well through classroom participation and other social opportunities. Although state licensing requires a 1:10 teacher-to-child ratio for preschool children, we are committed to a lower ratio of 1:7 teacher-to-child.We have one lead teacher and two assistant teachers.

The Relationship Between Trillium Preschool & Trillium Charter School

The two schools share the same democratic philosophy and constructivist based approach to learning as well as a building and community members. Unlike Trillium Charter School, the preschool is a private, fee- based program. Trillium Charter is a publicly funded school required by law to enroll children through a lottery process. Preschool families who are interested in their child attending Trillium Charter for Kindergarten must enter the lottery.
