Trillium's Newly Updated Mission Statement
Trillium Charter School is a public school that nurtures each child's inherent curiosity, creativity and connection to community. We support diverse learning styles and use democratic processes to help students grow fully as human beings and contribute to and enhance the world.

Many Trillium staff, board members, and parents have been hard at work this past year creating a Strategic 5 Year Plan in order to define and communicate our shared visions and goals for the next five years at Trillium. A multi-year strategic plan like this will be modified as we move forward, being updated with goals for each upcoming year. We will soon be sharing Version 1 of the Strategic Plan with the community. In the meantime, you can see some of the work in the new Trillium Mission Statement above and in the following vision statement.
Strategic Five Year Vision
Trillium places a strong emphasis on the arts, sustainability, service learning and democratic education. Within the next five years, Trillium will be an increasingly vibrant, stable and well-equipped school that appeals to the diverse people of Portland. We will focus on building community with students, staff, parents, and the broader society. We will further define the school's programs and systems. This will enable our community members to work more efficiently and effectively toward shared goals and communicate who we are in order to build broad support and secure additional funds.

In keeping with the vision of sustainability at Trillium!
We are so very excited to offer a new hot school lunch and breakfast program this year. We have contracted with a new vendor, Organic Fresh Fingers, that will be providing healthy, locally grown, sustainable, vegetarian/vegan food. We will be eliminating packaging and waste by serving on real dishes and our students will be participating in the serving and clean-up as part of being Trillium community members. When we complete our commercial kitchen, we will be able to have our own scratch food program with food we grow, but in the meantime this will get us closer to our goals.

Download the flyer (which will also come to you in the home visit packet), a product fact sheet and the menu for the first weeks. PLEASE NOTE A CORRECTION ON THE MENU THAT ON FRIDAYS, DUE TO HALF DAY, WE WILL BE SERVING A COLD PICNIC LUNCH. Since it will be VERY difficult to judge how many meals to order, especially in the beginning, we are asking you to help us by filling out the "pre-order" form. This is not a binding order, but it will go a long way to helping this program run more smoothly. You can email the form to staff member Arianne Newton. Arianne will need to have the forms by Wednesday, 9/3.
